Session 14

June 15th, 2015

It’s been a little quiet around here, which usually is never a good sign. Means some nasty or creepy shit is coming. Or both. Usually both. To start with some good news (for change) Diego did come back from his Autumn Court hazing/initiation fine and is thus a full fledged member. So whoopee. Rowan, while out from the clinic, gets a call from Liz, who tells them that Georgina has apparently put in a petition to the mayor to try and force use to let her see Leo. What a bitch. But, as Liz says, the mayor is stalling because “cute woodland faerie friends trump snooty London McBitch vampire” so go us. Rowan says they’ll talk to Leo himself if he wants to actually talk to Georgina (since ya know, his opinion kiiiinda matters). If he doesn’t, too bad Georgina, but if he does, well… I don’t think it’s a good idea but what can I do to tell some Faerie Lord ‘don’t do this dumb thing’? So afterwards Rowan texts Ava on wondering where she is, and she plus Leo are still at the clinic apartment. Ava has been spending time just busking out in the day, with Leo following her, whilst hanging out at the apartment during the night. Rowan heads on over and asks Leo the question. Leo is kinda wishy-washy, all ‘it’s better that we don’t meet’ but that isn’t exactly a solid no bro. Leo says he’ll think it over, whilst Mi-Ok wants to get a message out through to the Courts about talking to an oracle to help find Orpheus. Which is cool, since yes, we need to find that damn murder rose.

As always, it is controlled chaos over at Meridian’s, what with taking care of a baby that also happens to be one of the True Fae. I want to be optimistic in thinking that sure, it’d be cool to get one to be on our side but man… I don’t fucking know. This is a calculated risk and I am not the greatest with math. There’s a squeak of pain coming from the nursery and Meridian goes to investigate. He finds the Duke by the cradle with the wet nurse crouching down with a bleeding head wound. The Duke… god help us, wants to fuck the baby. Meridian says he should at least wait until it’s in it’s adolescence. Why do I know these people? Fucking foul and gross and ew. No. The Duke eventually leaves when there’s some bickering and Meridian ‘persuades’ the wet nurse into forgetting what’s just happened.

I’m in serious need of a glamour fix and Mi-Ok says that attending AA meetings seem to do a good job on providing. There’s a lot of confessions, babble here and there, I say I’m only there as emotional support for Mi-Ok. As we’re all sitting there, something comes flying through into the room. It’s a wooden flute, it then rises up and starts playing music. I, and everyone else, start getting real lethargic and tired. I manage to shake the feeling off but a lot of people around me have already dozed off. I get up and try to snap the flute in two or at least make it stop playing but that shit ain’t working. Mi-Ok has turned herself into a unicorn (or kirin?) now. I climb up on top and we just dash on out of the room. It seems like faerie bullshit to me, so I send a group text asking if anyone’s got anything on it, and they don’t. But that I should maybe text Dmitri about it. So, okay, I wasn’t too sure what he’d know but apparently texting him was the right thing to do, since the flute was werewolf bullshit instead of faerie bullshit. Some dude named Deverux was the owner and trying to come after us too, having apparently failed on going after Dmitri and the rest of the pack. Dmitri says that he’s one of the Pure, and the flute is something called a Fetish (they really couldn’t call it something else?) with spirit bound to it that causes people to go to sleep when played. The rest of the motley joins up with us and we do return to the place the AA meeting was held up at. Everyone is still asleep, with their pockets turned out and wallets on top of them, with the only thing taken being cash. As Leo is running his hand along a wall, he stops and grabs at it, pulling forward this small beady eyed man that turns out to be Deverux. We try to grill him for information, but he hulks out and… tries to run away. Well that wasn’t happening. Through actual luck of only fighting one guy for once and the fact that he was a fucking wussy, we manage to take him down, and he reverted back to his human form. We unfortunately killed him instead of just knocking him out so we could question him but hey. It was something. I call up Dmitri to let him know we took care of Deverux and have his ID and the flute as well as his phone. We also get the money he took and left it out for the sleeping folks to collect on their own time. Mi-Ok had also texted Alice about the flute and werewolf owner. And we… take the body because apparently Jacob wanted to do an autopsy (...like really? Fucking hell kid. You need better hobbies.) As we’re about to head out, the AA attendees are waking up and Meridian convinces them that we’re a theater trope practicing a play. Seph asks if Dmitri will be coming to the clinic to get some deets about Deverux, and he is, but Zerxes would also be coming. So fuck that, I hide out in the Hollow so I can avoid the glorified sperm donor. Back at the clinic, Jacob examines the corpse and comes to the conclusion that even with an autopsy, one would never find them to be a werewolf or even remotely supernatural. When Dmitri and Zerxes show up, along with Rachel, they let the group know that Georgina is close by watching. We’re given details about how the flute works, that a werewolf must attune to it in order to function properly. Rachel is like… magically going through the dead werewolf’s cellphone contacts and gets the information she needs, whatever that it. Ava tries to have Dmitri come see me in the Hollow, but he declines in saying he should stick close. She asks what it’s like to be working for Zerxes and he responds “violent”. But they have been pushing the Pure back so, a plus? Rowan talks with Rachel on trying to use drugs next time to capture a werewolf without killing it.

While I’m in the Hollow, I go out through the door to the Hedge to check my ‘Hedgemail’ as I call it, to see if Orpheus has replied at all to the note I left. Instead what I got was A/S/L. So I replied with ‘fuck you/fuck you/fuck you’. I realize that I should call Korey to check on her. Not just the fact that it’s been a while but since Orpheus had gotten teleportation powers from Ways, I can’t help but worry he might have found Korey and… did something. I go over to Meridian’s to try calling in the kitchen when I get this dazed woman appearing behind me. She’s more than a little off and creepy with getting too close to comfort and trying to smell the roses growing on me. I’m asking what she’s doing here and she claims she is meant to be here and that her name is Margaret. Well, since this is Meridian’s house this must be like… a maid of his or something so it’s definitely his problem. I call him over and make him deal with her. He checks Baby Master and sees that he’s fine and also has Leo come over to help with Margaret. Her brain was like… messed around with a bit and Leo tries to put it back in some sort of order as to help her feel better. But she may have reoccurring nightmares now. Fun. Outside of the clinic, something plummets into the car Dmitri and the werewolf co drove in (it wasn’t Dmitri’s car, thankfully, I think it was Zerxes’s) and it was Georgina, having been attacked and looking pissed the fuck off. She bugs out and Dmitri and the rest have to get a cab back to the houseboat due to their ride getting wrecked. I leave Korey a voicemail to ask how she’s doing and to call me back and return to the clinic once I hear Zerxes is gone. I check on my apartment briefly and see that… some stuff has been moved around, which isn’t the WEIRDEST thing to have happened but it’s still… iffy. Rowan goes outside to see what happened with Georgina, and some disembodied voice responds about them attacking her, but they’re a friend. Upon seeing Rowan just talking to nothing, I go out to talk to it as well. Turns out it’s another strix and I ask if they know Orpheus, they say know or knew of A Orpheus. We try to get some information more about their Dark King, but it goes as well as it did before. Besides, this strix isn’t apparently on the mission to find out about the Dark Queen and bring her to the Dark King. We let him know that I’m fine with meeting the Dark King, since I tell him that some of his fellow strix buddies seem to be convinced I’m this “Dark Queen”, but instead of grabbing me it’d be a lot better to, ya know, knock on my door or to bring the Dark King here if possible. While we don’t learn much more about the king, we do find out that wherever they’re from is like… a suburb to Arcadia Like how there’s Central America in between North and South America. I guess this place strix are from is sandwiched in between Arcadia and Earth. Weird. Once the strix leaves, we all opt to head to bed, cause it is fucking late and we’re all tired. Rowan goes to Liz’s (letting Ava and Leo borrow their room) and tells her about the meeting with the strix. She’s a little surprised they’re real, given that all they really have to go on them is the accounts of foggy memories from old ass vampires that alludes to strixes being more myth than real.

June 16th, 2015

It’s the next day and Meridian has already been busy on seeing of getting some of the refugee changelings (specifically from the Master’s realm) that have come through into forming a cult for the now Master Baby so that he’ll be well protected and taken care of. Nothing wrong can possibly happen.

When Ava wakes up she finds Leo and Ways having this silent communication deal going on. She waits politely for them to finish before asking if they want to tag along again to her busking adventures. They can also see about Leo getting a bus pass. While they’re out at the Center House, some nearby changelings are giving Leo quite the long stare, so Ava reacts how one would imagine she might; an aggressive ‘the fuck you looking at?’ When they start heading back Ava asks Leo if he’d prefer if she talks to Georgina for him, and he says that Georgina is looking for something that no longer exists. From what I’ve learned, Leo and the bitchy vampire had been married ten years, and that was… at least a thousand years ago. Gurl, you need to move on. Ava says that she will always be on his side and that they will totally figure something out. He’s grateful for this, giving her a peck on the forehead before he, along with Ways, disappear.

I check my Hedgemail again and I FINALLY got a response from Orpheus and it’s not… exactly what I had hoped for. “Eurydice, I remember what you did. -O” Like, what the fuck is that supposed to mean? Is being in a vampire host body fucking with him even more? Is he confusing me for Eurydice? Just… what the fuck. All I can write back is “What the fuck are you talking about?” cause… seriously. What the fuck are you remembering about something I supposedly did man? Cut the ominous bullshit out and just get straight to the facts. I go back inside the clinic and show the letter to Rowan and Ava, and Rowan wonders if it has to do with Dmitri. ...Fuck. I thought that maybe they were cool, since I mean Diego explained it to them that it was fine and dandy for Orpheus to be here. Dmitri hasn’t like, said or been jealous about Orpheus and Orpheus hasn’t either, but maybe I’m a fucking dunce and Orpheus is now being a jealous little shit about it. I go back out to the Hedge to write under my response “Is this about Dmitri?” and now all I can do is wait. Either for a response or… if Orpheus is actually this Dark King, like how I am near 100% sure he is, I can talk to him in person about it when a strix brings me to him or vice versa.

I head back out into the clinic and Ava let’s me know that she had told Dmitri about the Summer Court’s shindig about hunting some Pure werewolves, and that Dmitri would help out a bit with finding viable targets (so no friendly fire happens, but ya know, I wouldn’t be too mad if someone pegged Zerxes…) I let her know that I’d call up the Summer King to alert him about this update. Meridian is planning yet another party and Ava is organizing a playlist for it, to which Diego yells Freebird. Ava provides the correct response on throwing a burger wrap at him.

Mi-Ok gets a call from Alice, asking on why there’s an influx of werewolves in the area. We all give a group text to Alice to clue her in about the werewolves, and I, being the closest person to have any clue about it all, give her as much details as I can about this whole war between the Forsaken and the Pure, which is honestly about as much as I know, but I guess it helps Alice in getting the basics. While that is happening, Meridian is having fun times with his cult and finding one trying to kill the Master Baby. He puts an immediate stop to that.

There’s a sudden crashing sound in Rowan’s room. We all scramble up to see what the fuck’s happening and find Leo wounded, like he was mauled by a bear but somehow worse and passed out with Ways looking rather frazzled and only commenting about how ‘that went poorly.’ Ava asks the questions we’re all wondering which is ‘what the fuck happened?’ Leo tried to hash things out with Georgina. While Rowan is looking Leo over and getting him stabilized, Ava grabs some Goblin Fruit from the Hollow and makes it into a smoothie to help him out. Rowan also uses a contract from Spring to speed up the healing process, which helps since Leo wakes up, citing that Georgina still has a temper. He told her that it was over and well... Leo I guess didn’t get the memo about how hell hath no fury like a woman scorned. She attacked him, Ava is crying, there’s hella awkward moment of Leo trying to comfort her and I’m trying to comfort Ava too and… it’s just a fucking mess. So I bow out of it before I could potentially make things worse, as does Rowan. Welp… all I can really hope for is less of a shit show next time.
